Firing Up for a Cause: My Charity BBQ Fundraiser Progress
For my Genius Hour project, I'm excited to share the progress I've made so far in organizing a charity BBQ to support our local Cochrane Food Bank. I reached out to Independent, our local grocery store, and secured permission to run our food truck at their location for the fundraiser. I put the word out to my friends on social media for volunteers and recruited 4 amazing people to assist during the event. Next I contacted the Cochrane Food Bank and let them know about our planned fundraiser. They requested a poster to advertse. Below is the poster that I designed and distributed as an advertisement to spread the word on Facebook and Instagram. I created a menu plan and a list of food and supplies that I will need to order, then contacted my suppliers and updated our address for delivery.
