My Product

What began as a simple idea, to use my food truck to give back to the community, turned into something truly powerful. My goal was threefold: ✅ Raise money for the Cochrane Food Bank ✅ Network with community members ✅ Have fun And I’m proud to say: mission accomplished!
Why I Did It I challenged myself to organize a successful BBQ fundraiser to support a local charity close to my heart: the Cochrane Food Bank. I wanted to put my skills to work while making a difference, and the experience was both rewarding and humbling. The Journey Here’s a quick look at the steps I took: Recruited volunteers who were incredible to work with. Secured a venue at Brennan & Samantha’s Independent Grocer—huge thanks to them! Designed an ad campaign and spread the word through social media. Contacted the food bank and learned more about the amazing work they do. Created a full menu plan and compared supplier prices before placing orders. Prepared the truck, cleaned, fueled, and stocked it. I even made handmade advertising signs with my boys and their friend! Dealt with unexpected challenges, ike a food delivery sent to the train station! Prepped all the food with the help of friends and volunteers the night before. The Big Day The weather held up, the volunteers showed up, and the food truck fired up! The community turnout was incredible. People were generous, friendly, and hungry! The energy was contagious, and best of all… 🎉 We raised $2,700 for the Cochrane Food Bank! 🎉
This donation will go directly toward supporting families in need right here in our community. I'm beyond grateful to everyone who came out and supported the event in any way, whether you volunteered, donated, or just enjoyed a sandwich. What I Learned Organizing an event like this took more than just logistics. I learned how to: Problem-solve on the fly (train station delivery) Lead a team of volunteers Engage the community Stay focused on the purpose, even when tired or stressed Final Thoughts This project reminded me that food really does bring people together, especially when it’s for a great cause. Thank you to all who made this possible. I’m walking away from this experience feeling inspired, grateful, and excited to do more in the future.
